Electrology FAQs

What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is performed by inserting a very fine probe into the hair follicle under the surface of the skin. An electrical current is then sent to the bottom of the follicle, destroying the hair root.
Is electrolysis safe?

Yes, electrolysis has been around for more than 100 years and is the only FDA- approved method for permanent hair removal. Unlike other methods, electrolysis eliminates any hair no matter the hair color or skin type.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of sessions needed to achieve permanent hair removal differs from person to person. Typically, to start clients need an appointment once a week or every other week until hair growth slows down. Appointments can last up to a year and a half.

How long does electrolysis treatment last?

Electrolysis treatments can last anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour.

Is electrolysis painful?

Electrolysis normally doesnโ€™t cause too much discomfort. You may feel a slight tingling or itching during/after treatment. There is always topical anesthetic that can be used if needed.
